Movie Pirates of Silicon Valley
Overview
The purpose of this lesson is to show how the personal computer was developed.
As a group, we will explore questions such as these:
- Who should be given the credit for inventing the personal computer?
- If personal computers were not invented in this way would they have ever been invented…was it just an accident?
- What other operating systems are there?
- What is the definition of a personal computer today?
The development of the personal computer was a turbulent process. The competition of these two companies helped to spur on the development of the computer.

- Who made the personal computer? As a group, discuss
the questions presented in the Overview section above. - Build a playlist Make a video presentation on the history of computers
- write out a list of youtube videos that display a history of computers
- create a prezi for your videos and embed the links in the prezi
- Write in your journal about this process. Be sure to discuss how the planning and gathering of your resources helped you create you prezi.
